Please help me publish my book on the JW organisation.
by TheEndIsNigh inmy book, the end is nigh...again (but this time we really mean it) is now finished and available to read.
its a tongue in cheek, real life saga about the life of a second generation jehovahs witness that pokes fun at the organisation that to this day continues to completely screw up the lives of many decent people.
i have uploaded the entire manuscript to a site called slush pile reader.

Two questions: 1) what was the announcement about paperback Bibles and 2) what was the video posted earlier, I think it was something about blood - plus a third thing they mentioned in the meeting

during the announcements they said there is a letter about paperback bibles and if you want to know what it says you need to read it on the notice board.
i can't read it on the notice board because i'm not there!

Generation teaching - conversation I just had with my dad.
by cult classic inso, went to the dc 2 days this weekend.
still have lots of family in and had to put in a cameo for family who had parts on the program and drama.
i left after the drama today and just spoke with my dad who is inactive and supposedly enlightened about all things jw.

That basically describes my mother-in-law as she grew up in a family where many of them would drink and some of them would do things to young girls and of course they were poverty stricten.
That sounds like my family, except guess what, we were Witnesses!! Mom was alcoholic, dad was child molester with raging temper while serving as Presiding Overseer. Good times!

What Do JWs Think About Dinosaurs?

these people believe that god created the earth in seven 24-hour days, and have wondered that if god could just "speak" the earth into existence, why he would need the other six days.

The Jehovah's Witnesses believe whatever they're told to believe by the Watchtower. If the Watchtower says the dinasaurs died out during the Flood, then that's what they believe. But they have no problem watching Jurassic Park.
Generally, the Watchtower has had very little to say on the topic, especially in the last 30 years or so.

Is it presumptuous of Jehovah’s Witnesses to point out that they alone have God’s backing? Actually, no more so than when the Israelites in Egypt claimed to have God’s backing in spite of the Egyptians’ belief, or when first-century Christians claimed to have God’s backing to the exclusion of Jewish religionists. The facts speak for themselves.
HAHA, the arrogance is amazing. The Israelites' leader brought down 10 plagues on the land of Egypt, and parted the Red Sea. First century Christians were able to heal the sick, resurrect dead persons, speak in tongues, etc. What have the leaders of the JWs ever done to put themselves in that kind of company???
And I love their logic, can anyone match the definition of true religion, the definition we just made up ourselves? Well then we must be the true religion!

More Society cutbacks - Society says "screw you" to the publishers yet again
by sir82 inat our service meeting it was announced that there is a change in the manner in which magazines are now to be delivered to the congregations.. up until now, magazines were sent to each kingdom hall via ups.
in years past magazines were sent to each congregation po's home address via ups.. going forward, magazines will be sent only as far as the assembly hall.
it is the responsibility of each kingdom hall to send brother(s) twice a month to drive out there, pick up the magazines, and return.. this of course saves a little bit of money for the society - shipping larger packages to fewer addresses will cost less.. however, what about the expense to the local congregations?.

Ok I just went "shopping" and was I surprised! There are a half-dozen companies hawking rebound publications and field service supplies for the trendy JWs. And they are not cheap!! The leather bound bibles start at about $50 or so, song books are not much less!

Soft cover Bibles, does that refer to the new paperback bibles or to leather(Deluxe) Bibles?
I just saw one of the paperback NWT a couple weeks ago, how cheap looking!! Knorr must be spinning like crazy...
Oh well, most of the superzealous JWs just order a custom bound NWT from Stoops or Madzay anyway

Just talked to a brother in the service department and he hung up on me!
by life is to short inok so last sunday was my last meeting.
i have been in contact with the service department over this problem with the child molesters in my hall, i have written many, many letters begging for help, i have gotten nothing for help from them, but to wait on jehovah and pray more study more, etc.
so i want them to know that they they win they have weeded me out from the "truth" i am a bad seed from satan as i cannot abide by how we handle child molesters.

I wouldn't take anything on jw-media.com as any kind of official policy for the Watchtower organization. I would guess that 90% of Witnesses have never even heard of this site. And I have yet to see any of their printed publications make any kind of reference to it.
It's a propaganda site, pure and simple.
The only organization that is blamed for abuse that goes on outside the organization itself is Jehovah's Organization.
Another one of WT apologists favorite straw men. No one is blaming the Watchtower for the abuse, but for the way they attempt to COVER IT UP. Which of course makes it easier for the abuser to continue molesting.
Ok I missed the other obvious mistake in that sentence. I don't think any organization of Jehovah's is in trouble. I think the Watchtower Society may be in trouble, but I am quite confident they are not in any way shape or form "Jehovah's" organization.
Where exactly was this speech given? By whom?

Ok that's just sick and bizarre!! Has any other deceased GB member gotten this kind of glorification when they croaked? Usually its 2 paragraphs at the back of next months Watchtower.
I guess if any doubted how much of clout Teddy had, well, here's your sign.
Interesting that it gives his date of birth and baptism, two items I have never seen before, which is unusual for someone so high up the ladder at Bethel. Did they ever do a "life story" article on him?
